Dr. Robert Gibson received his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Houston, College of Optometry and has maintained collaboration with NASA and worked as a Therapeutic Optometrist in the Bay Area for more than 30 years.
Dr. Robert Gibson grew up in the Panama Canal Zone and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Houston, College of Optometry and has maintained collaboration with NASA and worked as a Therapeutic Optometrist in the Bay Area for more than 30 years.
Dr. Gibson currently provides eye care in the Flight Medicine optometric clinic at Johnson Space Center and has published numerous research articles, conducted at NASA, on the effects of space flight on the eye. In addition to practicing at NASA and South Shore Eye Center, Dr. Gibson is on staff at Coastal Eye Associates and Advanced Laser Vision & Surgical Institute, where he served as clinical director from 2000–2008. Dr. Gibson also serves as Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston, College of Optometry.
He and his wife, Lorraine, have one son. He enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his family.
Dr. Lutz received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Houston, College of Optometry and has been working as a Therapeutic Optometrist in the Bay Area for more than 30 years.
Dr. Teresa Lutz grew up in Florida and graduated with honors to earn a BS in Nursing from the University of South Florida. Upon graduation, she moved to Houston to work in the organ transplant unit at Methodist Hospital and returned to school to study optometry at the University of Houston. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Houston, College of Optometry and has been working as a Therapeutic Optometrist in the Bay Area for more than 30 years.
In addition to practicing at South Shore Eye Center, Dr. Lutz is on staff at Coastal Eye Associates and Advanced Laser Vision&Surgical Institute. She serves as a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston, College of Optometry and as a consultant to NASA Flight Medicine.
